I would brave a crazy aunt with lilacs like that! I can almost smell that sweet perfume from here... I would have to as we do not have them here. Tant pis pour nous!
About one-third of the interior walls of our house in Scottsdale are a deep purple. Actually, egg plant. We use them as accent walls along with Asian red.
Julie might be tempted to paint the outside purple, but it would never be approved by the architectural control committee of the homeowners association, which of course mandates earth tones.
I cannot believe that I can FINALLY use my blog today!! Been unable to access all day. Your photo is lovely and I am so happy that I can tell you how I feel!!

The house next door is really beautiful, ...
Are those lilacs I see? I love lilacs!
How inviting: 'Come in, come in . . .'
this is beautiful!!
I also think that door must be very beautiful!
Love the yellow and the blue!
Goodness, you'd have to be really dainty to walk up these steps. I don't think I'd better arrive with two large dogs...or even without.
very pretty!!
With beautiful purple lilacs, too! We have a purple door ourselves.
Oh the sweet perfume of lilac...
I like the stone stairs leading to the purple house, which I take on faith is purple.
Ummm, purple house. It's not occupied by someone's crazy aunt, is it?

Purple is a great color. It would fit in perfectly in Boca Raton...no, wait, that's peach in Boca.
I'd like to sit on these steps on a nice summer day and just breathe in the beautiful surroundings!
Isn't lilac season wonderful? Great color, but even better scent.
