I have far more tolerance for these maintenance trucks than I do for all the machines that are doing road repairs...they seem to be everywhere this summer. It had been a terrible, no-good very bad winter, and I'm dreading the one coming up again.

I'm always afraid that if I go around one of these things my white car will come out orange on the other side!

Road maintenance, as Kate suggests, is much more difficult in the northern climes!

Oooo, passing this truck looks a little sketchy, especially on that narrow road. We have a plethora of road construction in our area too. Must be all that government stimulus money at work. I liked your double comment yesterday :^)

You might have been stuck behind that truck for quite a while if it hadn't been for that 'cone-plucker' Brattcat, haha!

At least this stripe painting is a quick process. Around here the street maintenance goes on weeks at a time.

Cone-plucker? Love that. Thanks.

"cone plucker" is that the actual name for this job? ;)

When I worked scooping ice cream at Baskin-Robbins as a teenager, I did a lot of cone plucking.

Lucky! I always wonder if my tires will get painted from the road stripes.

An interesting entry on one's CV: cone-plucker!

Well, re your comment on Florida Fotos...I think y'all are right on...but ya know what they say, "Hair today, gone tomorrow!"

That's a hilarious concept. Such as:

Hi, I, Joe, pleased to meet you.

I'm Bill. Nice to met you, too.

So, Bill, what do you do?

Well, Ed, I'm a cone plucker.

(Fade to black.)

Meanwhile, I am having an email conversation with my daughter about Sarcomatoid Squamous Cell Carcinomas and mandibulectomies. She goes into hospital tomorrow. I will not see her again now until sometime Tuesday afternoon.

I have a series of things I have concocted to keep myself busy busy busy. A list of things to tick off. Two days worth.

It can't go fast enough ...
