If you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have seen it. You could write a children's book with that opening sentence. It was fed up waiting so decided to take a walk, unbeknownst to its owners who were lighting up the fire for a cosy evening...

That looks like an enchanted house in a fairy tale!

The snow is perfect in this shot. Another classic winter in VT image.

That is one sweet looking house and scene. The house fits in the space like fingers in a glove.

Superbly composed with that house peeking out of the trees laden with snow and the flakes falling gently to the ground.

The picture does need to be embiggened to see clearly the shovel...

You have such a great eye, Brattcat! And such a great sense of what makes a good picture. And a great way with words.

It is always a pleasure to go to Brattleboro!

Hope you have a great weekend, too!

I do see the orange shovel, but the beauty of the photo is what I see the most. Wow, gorgeous.

Woezer! What a perfect shot. You need to frame this.
Is this the same house as in the previous post---only at a different angle? Good eye!! MB

Same storm, same neighborhood, MB, but different house.
Thank you, everyone! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments.

I am utterly enchanted by this photo: the balance of color, the framing of the house, the capture of snowflakes, and that perfect orange shovel which, as cieldequimper says, would make a great opening for a children's book.

So beautiful and so perfect. It reminds me of a Thomas Kinkade painting.

I was also going to say that it looks like a Thomas Kinkade painting! It's so perfect that it almost doesn't look real.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

I have enjoyed the comments nearly as much as the photograph, BC.

The scene is like wonderland to eyes from Australia. I cannot imagine the privations that the current burst of weather is having all down your East coast. However, with views like this, there is some compensation.

A great weekend dear friend!

I don't always comment but I always enjoy your photos. This one is a classic. Thanks.

What a magnificent house and you caught it in all its wintry splendor.

This is an image that children's author/illustrator Chris VanAllsburg might begin one of his mysterious stories with.

You know this looks like a miniature painting, right? The mention of the orange shovel reminds me of the red wheelbarrow upon which so much depends...
