emma, the dog,

is a little deaf,
but she still knows the sound of a saucy dinner plate being placed on the floor.

Yes, I love the dogs. But this time I was completely absorbed by this veery interesting bookcase with wheels... :-)

The piece in the background is a sample of the artwork of Ahren Ahrenholz.

A good, patient dog! Another artist to research. Thanks, Brattcat.

Like the others who have commented, I love the adorable dog with the beautiful face, but got completely caught up in that amazing artwork behind her.

And I spotted the art piece as well. WONDERFUL

Ok, my interest is piqued. Cafe? Restaurant? Someone's inviting kitchen?

brattcat said...

The inviting kitchen of the artist and his artist wife.

Selective hearing? My problem as well, now and then, ask my wife.

Is that newspapers for wallpaper on the wall? I like the layout of this place. I like the dog too.

My sister's dog, dozing two rooms away, also perks up at the sound of a saucy dinner plate being placed on the floor. And I, like the others here, also perked up at the sight of that tactile artwork as backdrop. Wow!

And she's looking at you!
Is that amazing piece of 'furniture'(?) merely decorative? It's fantastic!

Lovely shot...great composition. Emma looks very alert here. Was she promised "a saucy dinner plate" if she posed so prettily?

Lowell said...

Delightful! It would be tragic if she couldn't hear that plate hit the floor! This is a very interesting picture...can't help but wonder where it was taken ... and you must have been up a staircase or loft ...

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Emma looks like she is waiting patiently! Her mistress looks stunning in that cranberry color!

Looks sorta like a Louise Nevelson piece...the wall, not the dog.

Hi, the piece of art looks great in the background and very original, so the cute dog pose. Thanks a lot for visiting and Happy Sunday!

The dog probably noticed you and was wondering what you were up to. I also noticed the "bookcase on wheels" and thought it was a collection of fabric swatches etc. and the owner a decorator. Guess I was wrong.

Love that composition and the expression of Emma!

Our dog Smokey has selective hearing. If a plate is laid on the floor he can hear it from across the house. He does a great pre-wash. On the other hand if asked to vacate our bed he seems to be stone deaf.

Nice picture, it's a good way to share your "atmosphere" with us.

Emma has a sweet face... she deserves a saucy little treat! Like the previous commenters, I was also intrigued with the gigantic art piece on wheels. It's fascinating!

The artwork is astounding. I gather from the bare feet, that the floor is heated!

Emma is darling, but the wall piece is amazing. (Am I the 35th person to have said that?)

Hilda said...

She seems very interested in you too.

Emma reminds me of our dog — even when his sense of smell had weakened tremendously, he could always smell chicken (his favorite) from anywhere in the house. :)
