the marina in snow

Brattleboro has not suffered as much as many other towns in this economic downturn. However certain restaurants have cut their hours of operation and some have closed entirely. The Marina, situated on the confluence of the West River and the Connecticut River, could not afford to heat through the winter and decided to shut its doors until Spring.

That's too bad about the closing. What do families do about winter heating bills that high? Even in our cold snaps, our heating bill doesn't top $120 a month.

We have programs to help people with their heating bills, but there are some who don't know about the funds, some who don't quite qualify, and some who are too proud to apply. It's a hard one. Thanks for asking.
