gardens

appear
on steps, on windowsills, on porches.
when the desire to plant seeds and foster life takes hold,
any place can become a garden.

Had to smile when I saw your post today since we both photographed a place with lots of flowers. Green thumb, indeed!

A moveable garden and a feast for the senses.

Beautiful. I wish I had the green thumb to do this.

Yes you certainly see flowers growing in the most unlikely of spots Brattcat, but window boxes like these are always a joy to behold.

That urge to plant and beautify - so strong in some . . . Love to see these blooms . . .

Flowers are able to change any place into paradise.

This is true with one exception. My gardens do not survive no matter where they are planted. I don't know what's wrong. Might have something to do with lacking one of those whatchamacallits, ah..., green thumb!

Chinese proverb " A book is a garden in a pocket." Your photo today brings this to mind.

I love a window with flowers, especially when they overflow to the doorway, the doorsteps, the walkway, the front yard, the edge of the sidewalk, the telephone pole, the taxi cab, the front-end loader...

Even the smallest space. Even in the driest desert (um, like St. Louis the moment).

Small, humble places and grand, expensive places all seem to have flowers. There is something about window boxes and urns filled with flowers that says "alive!" to most of us.

These are so bright! My potted gardens are getting scrawnier each day in this heat.
