Ah, yes, I remember my dad taking me outside when I was very young and showing me how much electricity we were using along with the concept of slowing down the rotation of the dials. Great perspective, bc.
When you think about it, it's kind of amazing they haven't come up with something different in the last 50+ years - that's the same meter they used when I was a kid!
Love this. I'm happy that this winter the dials have been moving very slowly! Other years we've had some hard freezes and even snow. Maybe we will dodge that bullet t his year! V
PS Meeps is all black, hence the reason I wanted to buy that black knitted kitty kit in Paris.
I heard about "specialists" here in Russia who could "repair" the count and make it move into opposite direction, so the figures went down. The only problem was to control and repair it back from time to time))).
One of the older meters, very nice. Mine is electronic; the truck drives down the street and the meter radios the readings to the computer inside the truck.
One cat prowls around small town Vermont.

A visual poem, in appropriate meter.

It is alway spinning, night and day!
Like your photo, Doug's comment is pretty clever.

I love it! I've watched those dials go around many times.
Love those dials Brattcat, reminiscent of days gone by, nice!!
Birdman says it all . . .
Here they have less expensive rates after midnight to 8 a.m. I do much laundry at that time....
Great idea to photograph this. Now why didn't I think of that?!
"Dials", a word that I used often with "sun"..
I'm trying to imagine them spinning real, real fast!
I dialed your number
Got a spark
It was fun
If but a lark!
Nice theme day photo. You don't think cats screech, heh? Why would that by Brattcat? :-)
How's it measuring up, that electricity?!
Perfect for theme day!

Fun to watch, isn't it? I like your choice very much.
With so many utilities rolling out smart meters, these will be collectors items before long.
Energy, a very expensive product!
Cool idea for the theme!

Exactly what Doug Hickok said so cleverly . . .

I like yours better!
