Happy Birthday, Birdman!

Let's celebrate the wonderful Mark Norton, AKA Birdman, who would have been gleefully observing his birthday today. In just a couple of months my book, NIGHT JOB, will be published by Candlewick Press. It was inspired by one of the hundreds of wonderful tales Mark shared with us about his childhood. I hope some of you will look for it and enjoy it. With best wishes to you all, Brattcat (aka Karen Hesse)

What a fine treat to stumble across this post today. Yes, we miss Birdman. He was a character. (I also miss your posts, but, frankly, I spend a lot less time checking on other people's posts.) I now have three and one+ year old granddaughters. I hope I remember to look for your book when it comes out.

I certainly miss the wonderful Birdman posts! He always had a wry comment to make! I hope his family is doing well.
