once the town's high school

now the municipal center.
i've spent many hours on the top floor of this building,
working under the sloping attic ceilings.

If it's ever abandoned, S. King's probably has a story to tell about late night comings and goings. At night, lights off, strange sounds... The School on the Hill"???

What an atmospheric working environment! A place like this could certainly get you in the right mood. We are up in Ohio at the moment, enjoying the snow and bitter cold :^)

here's an eerie story, birdman. many years ago there were workmen taking care of this building when suddenly a scream-like noise began to fill the air around them. they couldn't pinpoint where the sound was coming from but it lasted for minutes before it died away, never to be heard again. gives you the shivers, doesn't it?

What an impressive building. I really am glad that your photos give us the opportunity to click on them to see them larger. It's a pleasure I would not want to miss. Thanks!

I was already a bit nervous about this place. Then I read your comment. I don't envy your former working environment.

I agree with the birdman, it could easily stand in for a haunted building.

It's a little scary, though, sort of the house on haunted hill.

Hmmm...maybe you ought to clarify what you were doing up in the attic under the sloping ceiling. Such a description does prod ye olde imagination!

Very cool photo!

Though I have never entered it, I love this building! And it is next to one of my favorite places...the library! I hope the eerie scream was the wind. The story might make a great book.
