You've arrived back on the blog with your usual flair, and snow in the air, and I shall look forward to the oodles of treasures that in time you will share.

And I, for one, are very happy you are back. You're hitting all the cultural themes. Currier & Ives comes to mind.

I love it when you take pictures of that house I grew up in at 12 Chapin St.. Loved that old house and I like the new color scheme. When we first moved there it was dingey beige and white and paint was peeling. Then my mom had it painted various shades or dark red. Years later when visiting Brattleboro, I saw someone had painted it a dingey beige yet again. That porch on the 2nd story was cool. My grandmother used to live above us on the 3rd floor. Such nice wood work in that old house.

scott, i'm certain the owners would welcome you in for a tour if you find yourself in brattleboro again. they've got lovely taste and the house seems quite pleased to have them caring for it.

Yes it looks like they are taking good care of the house. Wonder what it looks like now. My mom renovated the kitchen back in the 70's, knocked down a couple of walls to expand it and took out a hallway. Love your blog. Your photos are wonderful and really enjoy the whimsical descriptions of them. You're almost making me homesick for Brattleboro, but then again it has been 80 degrees, sunny and bright here in Orlando these last few weeks, so I'm OK ;)
