to make a poem

begin with rain-pearled light,
stir in pennants of delicate petals,
season with a curious cat and a level cup of polished wood.
simmer all morning until the scent of earth rises with the steam.
to serve, spoon into cut-glass bowls.

Your writing that accompanies your photos is often poetic. Now we know your recipe for eloquence.

Everything in the photo works well together, each complementing one another. The wood shines!! Guess I'd better start working on our floors.

Today, you make me think of a famous french poet,Jacques Prévert. He wrote a poem saying that to paint a bird, you must first draw a tree, and beautyful leaves for the bird, and all things a bird may need ,to attract it..
I'm comparing you to Prevert, believe me, it's a compliment! (I adore Prevert)

I can't compete with that
And when I gave it a try
My words came out so jumbled up
All I could do was cry!

:-)

Lovely!

And your comment re the steam car was the best!

Yes, please, I will have a poem like that. The smell of steaming earth is the clincher.

It's no use Brattcat, even with such a beautiful recipe, there's no way my cake would rise!! Love those shiny wooden floors.

Then just sit. Enjoy the scene as the light slowly changes.

There's a story there...but the poem will do.
