Everytime I see one of these guys I feel a bit nostalgic and wish to visit Peru again.

In the high Andes where Julie and I have enjoyed seeing llamas and guanacos, there are not very many leafy trees. Their long necks make it easier for them to eat grasses and bushes. In Vermont with all of your trees, they must be fat and happy.

What he needs is to be crossed with a giraffe.

He must be in heaven in leafy Vermont!

I thought I heard a cry, "Leaf me alone!"

Llamas are so funny-looking. We have a few here up near Micanopy. I'm not sure if they're being raised for meat or for some other reason.

Now, that is not something I expected to see in Vermont!

I have not seen a llama in some time but this one will "clean" the tree of low-hanging fruit and leaves!

Good idea, Julie - hah!

Did you know that llamas are " one of four main species of New World camelids."?? Love blogging because it sends me on a search for fascinating but often totally useless bits of information. Love it, tho!

Correction: anything within reach. They aren't very fussy. I took some llama pix earlier this week but I didn't like them.

He's certainly looks like he's finding enough to eat, lovely round tummy! So soft and cuddly looking, not sure how he would feel about that!

There were a pair of llamas at the B&B we stayed at in Hannibal last weekend. They kept the lawn mowed.

If I remember well these voracious creatures have some other nasty habits...
