and stroked the patient beasts in their pastures

That looks like some soft grass. Now, if only that rain would stop.

The lush green against the animals rich brown makes a terrific photo. They are beautiful, aren't they?

Something is out of kilter. We haven't had rain in what seems months. It's just hot and steamy. So please send some of your showers down our way, and have a great day!

They have lots of grass available to eat.

During our recent trip to Yosemite I got a photo of a deer with rain drops on his nose.

They have such lovely faces Brattcat, but I wouldn't want to get in the way of those horns!

I got rained out of a golf game today and it looks like it is going to be hanging around for most of the week. But, it did give you a good photo.

Are these Highland cattle? Evoke nostalgic memories.

duyh...they're rather taciturn creatures and didn't offer up any information voluntarily but judging by their appearance i'd wager highland cattle is precisely what they are.

Those sweet faces look grateful for the rain.

And oh yes, Naomia ALWAYS has mischief in her eyes!

Are there still more cows in Vermont than people?

brattcat said...

No, Clueless, there are more humans than cows in Vermont. But Vermont does have the highest ration of cows-to-humans of any state in the union.

brattcat said...

that's "ratio" not "ration".

That makes sense. I was told that if cows are lying (laying?) down in a field that means it will rain.

Or maybe it was if they were standing up.

Whatever. The rains sure greened things up nicely.

It did not rain in Stone Creek at 2 pm. Two miles away we drove into such a thunderstorm we could not see anything. Then it rained in Stone Creek. Then it stopped.

It's now bright, sunny and hot!

They seem relaxed. I was out trying to sohot some photo of Scottish Highland cattle last week, but they were too lazy to be bothered.
