can you conjure up a better way

to while away a rainy day?

Looks perfect to me... just add a cat and a good book. Oh, please remove the broom so that I do not feel that there are chores I should be doing instead - hah!

Have a great week ahead,
Genie

Summer is a lazy afternoon, snoozing in the hammock. surrounded by beauty and pink sound. The broom and peace sign can sweep away all the cares of the day.

Indeed, what a relaxing spot for a rainy day. Almost as nice as a spa.

I think it depends upon the temperature and whether the wind is blowing any rain onto the porch.

Julie and I went to a bed and breakfast in Sedona a few weeks ago. We had been working very hard in the days leading up to it. After breakfast I saw a hammock out on the lawn. I told Julie I could walk no further and would take a short nap. About an hour later some people woke me up because the hammock was located right in the middle of the chairs that they were setting up for an outdoor wedding at that spot.

They told me they got about 20 good pictures of me sleeping in the midst of where they were setting up their wedding. I didn't ask for any of the photos.

The next day I tried another nap on a hammock on the lawn, which proved a bad idea when the sprinklers came on shortly thereafter.

I can conjure up lots of things, but probably not a better way to while away a rainy day...looks lovely. Is this your porch?

Oh, this would be great! Iced tea at ready and book in hand.

Relaxing in a hammock and remembering your awesome trip to France and the fun times with Jilly of Monte Carlo daily photo......c'est tellement formidable!

Sublime.

... ya, warmer temps in northern New England. The hammock looks inviting, I'd need a large space heater this AM to get really comfortable.

What Birdman said....I'm sitting here...INSIDE.....and I have a long sleeve t-shirt on, plus a wool sweater plus a fleece jacket, and did I say I'm inside?
Oh yes, it's raining out.
They say it's going to rain from now on.....

Well no, really I can't, provided it isn't too cold!

VP said...

Absolutely not! Give me a book and something to drink and I'll spend my afternoon there!

No, I can't! :-) What a lovely 'chill out zone'.

Dreaming about this from monday to friday, from 8 till 5. Not on weekends: too busy.

I think Genie has it right, if we let the cat sit with someone else but do get rid of the broom. The book would be for resting on my lap while I snooze. I probably couldn't get any more than three pages into a book while on a hammock.

Now I urgently head to the shop to buy the sample for my parents' place. And the broomstick, to keep off the competitors. Like Dave))

No, I think this is probably the best way I can think of! The roses make a lovely composition.

Idyllic looking porch, like something on a Hallmark card. I like the peace flag stuck on the pole, nice touch.

You bet - I'd go out and take pictures! I don't sit still well but the site looks very restful if you are so inclined. Or maybe I should say reclined.

I'll be right there with a book.

Oh I love this. Makes me want to know who lives here. Methinks it's a she - a hippy from way back I'd say, with that sign from the 60s - artistic for sure - I think I'd like this lady...

I love your photo and words, of course.
