through a glass sleetly

do you remember the old filmstrips?
this is actually the view out a side window of the house next door
and its second floor balcony
in the midst (and mist) of a freezing rain

That must have been one fancy house in its day. You seldom see real colored glass in windows these days. Not sure why. I guess it costs too much money and Lowes and Home Depot don't sell them.

Wow, the colours highlight so much in relation to all the white and coldness back there...
God bless you!

Old movies were in Black and white, this one is in white and white! So much white around makes you to desire colors

I can remember colored glass like this in a few of our windows, especially the ones with window seat to view the world going by.

I remember film strips. Kids today would probably consider them way too low tech.

If your photo was taken from the house next door, I hope the sleet let up before you had to go back home.

When I was a little kid in the early 1950s we lived with my grandmother for a time. Their old house had a detached garage with a side door that had a row of colored glass squares around a center pane of clear glass. I remember being in the old garage watching beams of colored sunlight pouring through the dust in the air. The garage had an old dirt floor and the place smelled of motor oil and paint cans. It was one of my favorite places.

I love this window and this interesting photo and that you mentioned the film strip likeness---my mind would have been searching for what that reminded me of.

I love those colorful window panes and I do remember those sprocketed strips. I had my students create filmstrips. I can still put my hand on a projector or two.

Nice strip of colored glass. One needs color when the world is full of snow and that dratted freezing rain. MB

Such a contrast between that brightly colored glass and the real view outdoors.

I certainly do remember the old filmstrips...a staple of my career at one point.

Tremendous contrast in this photo...very well done!

Cubes of light such as those on the right always remind of of Piet Modriannn.

It amazes me every time how you compose the objects. Always a story behind the image.

I love the way you composed and cropped this image, bright foreground colors contrasting with a monochrome background. Excellent observation!
