Here is a humorous post epilogue to my comment yesterday of getting 29 stitches after splitting open my face in a skiing accident.

My mother insisted that I consult with a plastic surgeon. He said I should not worry that at the time the scar was red and quite visible, as over time it would fade into the same color as my face. The scar was in my eyebrow and curved down to the outside of my eye socket (where it is hidden by my glasses).

He said that the primary issue with the scar is that it is perpendicular to the crows feet line on the face and as I get older and the crows feet are more pronounced, they would not wrinkle naturally because of the scar intersecting the crows feet.

He then said that he could perform surgery to cut out the existing scar and then re-do it in a zig zag pattern so that the scar would intersect the crows feet lines at 45 degree angles so that the crows feet would wrinkle more naturally.

He said that it was a borderline question about whether I would want to have this surgery done. He said that "If it was me and my face, I would do the surgery. But you? You might not want to bother."

He was right. I did not bother.

It's much better if one gets a lift to the summit, but I prefer a different kind of lift; a chair or gondola would be very nice, thank you!
