no sun

just the patter of rain
on tender new leaves

light painting

in its current exhibit
our local museum has an entire room
dedicated to the light paintings of Stephen Knapp.
this photo doesn't do his work justice.
with a single halogen light, dichromatic glass, and brackets
he breaks out of the frame
and makes magic.

monochrome monday: on a clear day

if only we could see into the future
the way we see into the distance
but we would need to know what we were seeing
to form a useful opinion.
this is taken on route 2 in massachusetts
i can't tell you anything about what you're looking at in the distance.

good to the last drop

if you want a cup of tea
at the Twilight Tea Lounge
you'll have to hurry.
the yellow screen door closes on the 31st.
over the years this space has been
a funeral embalming room
a barbershop
and a place for tea and crumpets.
the tea lounge isn't disappearing entirely.
it's moving next door
to the knitting shop.

a blizzard of petals

a little rain
and the petals
so proud in the sunshine
float down
to endure
the weight of our feet

sky watch friday: williams college campus

Williamstown, Massachusetts,
about an hour southwest of Brattleboro,
offers museums,
a beautiful campus,
and at least on this day,
a magnificent sky.

this old house thursday: shy house

hidden behind
several stocky houses
this slim windowed beauty
has always intrigued me

My husband, also somewhat shy, sends thanks to all.
